Marangu Route, also known as the "Coca-Cola" route, is the only route with hut accommodation. This 8-day itinerary allows for better acclimatization than the standard 5-day Marangu trek. The route offers beautiful forest scenery and a gradual ascent. Perfect for those preferring huts over tents.

Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Drive to Marangu Gate. Trek through rainforest to Mandara Hut (2700m). Optional visit to Maundi Crater. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Trek through forest and moorland. First views of Kibo and Mawenzi. Reach Horombo Hut (3720m). Acclimatization walk. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Horombo Hut - Acclimatization Day
Rest day at Horombo. Optional hike to Zebra Rocks (4000m). Excellent for acclimatization. Return to Horombo for dinner.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Trek across lunar landscape to Kibo Hut (4700m). Alpine desert. Early dinner and rest.

Day 5: Summit Day to Horombo Hut
Start summit at midnight. Reach Gilman's Point (5685m) then Uhuru Peak (5895m). Descend to Horombo Hut. Celebration dinner!

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
Trek through forest to Marangu Gate. Lunch, receive certificates. Drive back to Moshi/Arusha.
